Case Studies

Case Study 1.
This project involved the installation of an ice energy 9kw heat pump with a 300 ltr tank within a tank unvented hot water cylinder.

We fitted underfloor heating throughout approximately 400m2. There was a combination of the the polypipe overlay system and the under screed system running off two 12 port manifolds.

The heating controls were run off the intelligent weather compensation system with a internal and external temperature sensor providing the most efficient running costs. We also fitted four new modern bathrooms, utility and kitchen.

The house was insulated above the building regulation required U Values. The customer is now benefiting off low energy bills.

Case study 2
Mr and Mrs H contacted P.H renewables in 2005, they wanted a solar hot water system fitted to save them money and to reduce their carbon footprint.

We installed the Worcester Bosch solar kit with 4m2 of flat plate collectors with a 200ltr open vented hot water cylinder. This system has been running for over two years now and they are extreemly pleased with the results.

They have noticed refunds coming back from their energy supplier and between March 1st to September 10th 07 the boiler has only been used to top up the hot water 10 times, when on certain cloudy days the solar only heated the water to 35 - 40 degrees.

Mr and Mrs H allow P.H renewables to use the solar system as a show home.

Case study 3
Mr and Mrs R were extending their house and decided to integrate underfloor
heating. Upon surveying the job we decided that the best option was to use
the OVERLAY SYSTEM. This was due to the floor being screeded already. The
project consisted of 100 sq.m of floor area which was spread out through the large kitchen and lounge.

The underfloor heating was controlled seperately to the rest of the house by a zone valve and two seperate room stats. Mr R has been very pleased with the more efficient and comfortable heat that it
delivers.

case study 4

Outdoor condensing oil combi.

We replaced an old standard efficiency combi for a grant U.K outdoor condensing combi.

Mr R needed to free more space within his kitchen
and reduce his fuel bill.

Solar swimming pool
Mrs R is one of our existing client base. We recently istalled a Worcester Solar heating construction for swimming pool
50/79kw greenstar oil boiler for the main house. The swimming pool was
heated by an old oil fired boiler which was costing Mrs R alot on fuel bills.

Due to an oil leak within the existing underground oil line, she decided to
replace the old un-efficient boiler with a highly efficient solar system.
The pool is situated outside with a surface area of 98 sq.m. The pool holds approximately 45,000 gallons of water and is used for about 4-6 months of the year. We installed seven 20 tube 58mm evacuated tube panels on A frames, a 300ltr thermal store and an external hot water plate to plate heat
exchanger.

The system was installed before the summer of 2007 and has raised the
temperature of the pool to 28 degrees. The solar heats the hot water for a shower and a kitchen sink within the pool house. We also installed a chrome towel rail which is heated by the solar panels. The solar indirectly heats the thermal store which in turn trnsfers the energy to the showers and towel rail.

We fitted a 9KW back up heater for the store of which can be used to heat
the pool when the solar input is low.
